One question though.
There were parts where Vinnie was not hitting the rimshot, but the rimshot was there.
How do they do that? Do they take music from one show and mix it into another?
It looked like he was playing the song, but just not exactly the same way as it sounded.

I just stumbled over this on tv last night - my girlfriend loves Faith Hill so we watched it for a minute then I yelled "hey that's Vinnie on drums!!" hahaha
As for the rim shot thing, I think it was the percussionist - I noticed she had a full percussion section in addition to Mr. C on the kit... and isolation panels in front of both of them too!
Great to watch - for country... but yeah like I said before it's always surprising to see what Vinnie comes up with for a given song.
By the way love the comments earlier about how the skoal-chompin' folks don't know the devastation he could lay on 'em!! too funny!!

Country's all over the place right now. Kenny Chesney was on an hour before on 7 and it sure factored big on the AMA night before.
Anyone notice my man was working hard last night? His hair was soaking wet. He definely put a lot of energy into those tunes. Everything he played was so appropriate for the music too. Ive heard Vinnie in other situations where he was blowing when it wasn't necessarily called for. He seemes to have matured past that.
Also, the bass player with the mohawk? He seemed pretty young. I wonder if it was going through his head that he's playing with Vinnie Freakin C.?
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">coincidence or conspiracy, i was watching the When The Lights go Down dvd, and in the produced (not the live playing where they are in that club in L.A.) performances, you could hear the rimshots but you could tell Vinnie was not hitting the snare hard on purpose and not rim shotting either. And some of his fills were not the same as the sound that you can hear. I guess that they just play synced on that dvd, sometimes you can even see that in a section, vinnie goes from a fill to play the ride but in the music you hear the hi hat....i can post specific times when this happens for you all to check out.Quote:
